Why We Started Mentis
Mushrooms that grow your mind. They exist.
We believe in the therapeutic qualities of these mushrooms. We believe that everyone should be able to have access to a safe source of these therapeutics.
Yet growing your own mushrooms is extremely hard. It is as much an art as it is a science. You have probably already tried. We certainly have. It is fraught with frustration, failure and futility. And it is made all the worse because what you really want is some mushrooms.
Mentis was started as a personal project - splicing DIY electronics into small fridges in our garage. When we realised we could actually make growing mushrooms at home very easy, Mentis quickly became our life’s work. We designed The Toolbox to remove the complexities and points of failure you often get with “improvised TEK”. It was the result of a 2-year design journey and endless research into growing mushrooms.
