Privacy policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit getmentis.com or buy from us, what we do with it, and what rights you have.

Who we are

getmentis.com is run by Mentis Therapeutics Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13760219). Our registered office is 35 Dean Street, London, W1D 4PR.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, email us at hello@getmentis.com.

What we collect

When you buy something: your name, email address, billing and delivery address, phone number, and order details. Payment card details go directly to our payment providers — we never see or store them.

When you contact us: your email address and whatever you tell us in the message, so we can help and keep a record of the conversation.

When you sign up for emails: your email address and whether you've opted in.

When you join our rewards programme: your name, email address, points balance, and any referrals you make.

When you use the site: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and how you move around. Most of this needs your consent — see Cookies below.

When you leave a review: your name (or the name you choose to display) and what you write.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We share it with companies that help us run the business:

  • Shopify — our store, checkout and order system, and the tool we use to send marketing emails. Their privacy policy.
  • Payment providers — including Shopify Payments and PayPal, to take payment and check for fraud.
  • Delivery companies — your name, address and phone number, so your parcel arrives.
  • Trustpilot — your email address and order details, so they can invite you to review your purchase. Their privacy policy.
  • Smile.io — to run our rewards programme.
  • Google Analytics — to understand how people use the site. How Google uses your information. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely here.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — to show you relevant ads and measure whether they work. Their privacy policy.

We may also share information where we're legally required to, or to establish or defend our legal rights.

Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use:

  • Essential cookies — to make the site, your basket and checkout work. These don't need your consent because the site can't function without them.
  • Analytics cookies — to understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it.
  • Advertising cookies — to show you relevant ads on other sites and measure whether our advertising works.

We only set analytics and advertising cookies if you agree via our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences link in our footer, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings — though parts of the site may stop working properly if you block the essential ones.

You can also opt out of targeted advertising directly through Meta's ad settings, Google's ad settings, or the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out portal.

Because there's no agreed industry standard for handling them, we don't respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to — we're legally required to keep these for tax purposes.
  • Customer support emails: two years after your last contact with us.
  • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, plus a minimal record of the fact that you unsubscribed, so we don't email you again by mistake.
  • Rewards accounts: until you ask us to close the account, or after three years of inactivity.
  • Analytics data: as set by each tool, and no more than 14 months.

Sending information outside the UK

We only sell and ship within the United Kingdom, but some of the companies we work with store or process information elsewhere. Where that happens, we make sure it's protected — either because the country has been formally recognised by the UK government as providing adequate protection, or because we have contracts in place using the UK's approved safeguards.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that's wrong
  • Delete your information, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it
  • Restrict or object to how we use it
  • Object to direct marketing at any time, for any reason or none
  • Receive a copy of the information you gave us, in a portable format

To use any of these rights, email hello@getmentis.com. We'll respond within one month. It's free.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, you have the right to complain to us directly. Email hello@getmentis.com with "Data protection complaint" in the subject line. We'll acknowledge it, look into it properly, and tell you what we find.

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, whether or not you come to us first:

Information Commissioner's Office Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF Helpline: 0303 123 1113 ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint

Children

Our site isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you're a parent or guardian and think your child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when our practices change or when we need to for legal reasons. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
