Refund policy

You have 30 days from the day your order arrives to request a return. If your return is accepted, you get a full refund. No restocking or admin fees.

You pay return postage, unless the item is faulty, damaged or wrong — in which case we cover it.

What you can return

Items must be unused and in their original, unopened packaging.

  • Toolbox — unused, with all components present.
  • Grow Bags — sealed. Once a bag is opened we can't take it back: the substrate is a living, perishable product and can't be resold.

How to return something

  1. Email hello@getmentis.com within 30 days of delivery, with your order number and what you'd like to return.
  2. We'll reply within one working day confirming the return and how to send it.
  3. Post it back to:

  4. Send within 14 days of us confirming. Use a tracked service and keep your proof of postage — the parcel is your responsibility until it reaches us.

Please don't send anything back before contacting us. Unannounced returns may be refused.

Damaged, faulty or wrong items

Check your order when it arrives. If something is damaged, faulty or not what you ordered, email hello@getmentis.com with a photo and we'll sort it — replacement or full refund, and we cover postage both ways. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.

If your kit didn't grow

That's covered separately by the Mentis Mushroom Guarantee, not this policy. This page covers returning the product itself.

What we can't accept

  • Opened or part-used Grow Bags and substrate

Refunds

Once we've received and checked your return, we'll refund your original payment method within 14 days — usually within two or three working days. Your bank may take a few days more to show it.

If it's been more than 14 days since we confirmed your refund and nothing has landed, email hello@getmentis.com.

Your legal rights

Our 30-day returns policy is offered on top of your legal rights — it doesn't replace them.

Because you're buying online, you also have a statutory right to cancel your order for any reason. That right starts as soon as you place your order and runs until 14 days after the day your parcel arrives. If you cancel in that window:

  • You have a further 14 days to send the goods back to us.
  • We'll refund what you paid for the goods, plus our standard delivery charge.
  • You may unpack and inspect items as you would in a shop. If they come back in a condition beyond that, we may reduce the refund to reflect the loss in value.
  • You pay return postage.

Grow Bags contain living, perishable substrate. Once a bag is unsealed we may not be able to accept it back or may reduce the refund accordingly — please contact us before opening one if you're unsure.

Separately, if goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including a 30-day right to reject for a full refund. Nothing here affects those rights.

To cancel, just email hello@getmentis.com telling us you'd like to cancel. You don't need to give a reason.
